Something to Remind you
After losing my wife to cancer in June 2023, I came across a snippet of a quote by Sascha Wagner “As long as I can I will look at this world for both of us. As long as I can I will laugh with the birds, I will sing with the flowers, I will pray to the stars, for both of us.”
Carrying this with me, set out to see and capture the world for both of us. My travels include our bucket list destinations and places that put me outside of my comfort zone. In these travels began to notice the subtle hints, or sometimes commanding signs, in the physical world that reminded me that she will remain with me long after she passed. These photographs of bones, dead trees, her favorite flowers, stones, the sun rising through the fog present an interesting view to the enduring memories, of a love so strong, that we carry with us as we move forward facing our own mortality.
